My New TFCD (Time For CD) Guidelines
Due to the recent increase in the demand for shoots, I have had to revise my TFCD policy. The following guidelines describe the policy, however, they are negotiable, depending on what you have to offer and how busy I am on any given month.
TFCD - My Time for Your Time.
Obviously this is never a 1 for 1 trade as the photographer has a bunch of additional tasks to do once the shoot is over. The list of tasks is long and I wont go into details, but suffice it to say the actual shoot the is only a small percentage of the time the photographer will spend creating the images.
How many images do you get ?
The model will only ever receive images that have been fully edited. No photographer wants half finished /poor quality work out there and I am no exception. All unedited images will be small and heavily watermarked rending them useless for self promotion. They will be used only to allow the model to select and prioritise the images they want editing. The number of images you will get will be time based. For every hour of modeling you will receive my time as a photographer plus and additional 1.5 hours of my time for post processing. So if you model for a 2 hour shoot you will get 5 hours of my time. (2 hours as a photographer and 3 hours editing).
Image editing is a labour intensive task. On average, my turnout for post processing is around 1 or 2 images per hour. This will obviously depend on the complexity of the image and quite frankly the quality of the models skin and figure. Generally, the greater the amount of skin there is to edit, the longer the process takes. So for a 2 hour shoot you can expect to receive between 2 to 5 fully processed images in return.
Why So few Images ?
Here are some of the things you might expect from the post processing: Cropping, Saturation adjustment, Light and White Balancing, Contrast Adjustment, Colour Adjustment, Removal of spots and blemishes, Whitening of eyes and teeth, Airbrushing of skin, Sharpening of eyes, Adding catch-lights to eyes, Hair Highlights, Body Sculpture when needed (including: Face Thinning, Tummy Tucks, Butt reduction, Thigh Thinning, Chest Enlargement/reduction, Waist Narrowing, Eye Widening, Expression Alteration) , Removal of unwanted background objects, Blurring or Changing colour of background objects.
Quality versus Quantity
If you have read this far I have to assume that you have seen my work and like the quality of the images. It is my philosophy one good quality image is more valuable to your portfolio than 10 quickly edited low quality images. Therefore my focus is on detailed editing of a few selected images. You will get Quality over Quantity. If you are looking for 20 plus images from a shoot or all the originals, then I am sorry I am not the photographer for you.
If, after receiving your images from the shoot, you still want more. then I am prepared to edit additional images at a reasonable hourly rate. However, please note this offer is not available to any Bermuda residents, as I cannot be paid for photography related work whilst on the island. So please don’t even ask.
Limited TFCD
In recent months I have become increasingly busy with TFCD shoots most weeks. As such I am getting more selective in terms of who I chose to shoot with. I am mostly looking to do shoots with models that have some modeling experience, and who are ultimately going to add something to my portfolio. If you have little or no experience I will still consider you if I feel your look can add interest to my portfolio. Remember for every hour of your time you are getting 2.5 hours of my time. If I am more experienced than you , then you will have to have a special look for it to be worth my while. For nude shoots I realise that most models are looking for some form of payment. For Nude TFCD shoots I am willing to give you 2.5 hours of image editing per hour of modeling, instead of the my standard 1.5 hours.
If you are looking for a shoot and think that it would mutually beneficial, then please message me with as many details as possible. (date, time, concept).
Paid Shoots
If you are a professional model and you want to be paid, I will consider working with you, however, do not expect to receive or be allowed to use any of the images. You can’t have it both ways.
I stated at the beginning that these are guidelines only. If you want to negotiate a slightly different arrangement I am more than willing to hear your proposal.
Regards Mike
